IntroMain Street Magic: Your Weekend Guide to Cocktails, Concerts, and Poconos Culture
This week of April 27 is shaping up to be one of the densest stretches for local culture we’ve seen all year. Whether you’re a local looking to connect with the community or a visitor looking for a reason to stay an extra night, the calendar is packed with events that turn our downtowns into high-energy hubs.
From the inaugural "Cocktail Trail" in Stroudsburg to a powerhouse lineup at Penn’s Peak, here is how you should be spending your weekend.
The Main Event: Stroudsburg’s Inaugural Cocktail Trail
On Saturday, May 2, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Main Street Stroudsburg is transforming into a premier destination for craft beverage enthusiasts. The Pocono Chamber of Commerce is hosting the first-ever Cocktail Trail—a textbook example of how our local commerce and community spirit come together.
For $35, participants (21+) can grab an event passport and souvenir cup at the Sherman Theater and then make their way through downtown, sampling specialty-crafted cocktails at our best local restaurants. It’s the perfect way to explore Stroudsburg’s Victorian architecture while supporting the merchants that make our Main Street thrive.
Live Music at the Sherman Theater
The Sherman complex is the heartbeat of Stroudsburg’s nightlife, and this weekend is no exception:
-
Thursday, April 30 (7:00 PM): The high-energy funk of Pigeons Playing Ping Pong hits the main stage on their 2026 Tour.
-
Friday, May 1 (6:30 PM): Over at the Sherman Showcase, catch King Kung along with special guests My Last Wish and Witness Marker for a night of local talent.
A Legendary Weekend at Penn’s Peak
If you’re heading toward Jim Thorpe, Penn’s Peak is living up to its reputation as the premier venue of the Poconos. We always recommend making a full day of it—take in the stunning historic architecture and railroad heritage of Jim Thorpe before heading up the mountain for a show.
The lineup for this weekend is massive:
-
Friday, May 1: Live Dead & Brothers
-
Saturday, May 2: Magical Mystery Doors (The ultimate tribute experience)
-
Sunday, May 3: The legendary George Thorogood & The Destroyers
Our region is currently offering a world-class entertainment itinerary. Whether you’re into jam bands, classic rock, or just want to sip a craft cocktail on a historic Main Street, the Poconos is the place to be this weekend.
