Pocono Mountain School District Invites Parents to Participate in Title I Survey
SWIFTWATER, Pa. — The Pocono Mountain School District (PMSD) is encouraging parents and guardians to complete its 2025-2026 Title I Parent Engagement and Comprehensive Planning Survey. This initiative aims to gather crucial feedback that will help the district identify and address educational needs for the upcoming school year.
The survey, accessible online through PMSD’s official website, invites all families with students enrolled in the district to share their insights. Although no specific deadline has been set, district officials are urging prompt responses so that the data can be incorporated into planning efforts.
Title I Schoolwide Programs operate across all nine of PMSD's schools, which include Clear Run Elementary Center, Swiftwater Elementary Center, Tobyhanna Elementary Center, and both Pocono Mountain East and West High Schools. This designation underscores the district’s commitment to improving academic achievement among students who are at risk.
Under the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), PMSD is required to engage parents in developing, implementing, and reviewing school programs for Title I students. Parent input surveys play a critical role in meeting these requirements by fostering shared decision-making that benefits student literacy rates and attendance.
Parents’ active participation in such initiatives not only supports the district’s mission to prepare all students but also aligns with federal guidelines emphasizing meaningful communication between schools and families. By involving parents, PMSD seeks to enhance academic standards and improve overall educational outcomes for its students.
PMSD covers a vast area within Monroe County, encompassing the Pocono Mountains region of northeastern Pennsylvania. The district’s comprehensive approach to education includes a full-time K-12 cyber program alongside traditional school settings, reflecting its dedication to catering to diverse learning needs.
