Sustaining the Surge: A Week of Regional Economic Growth and Civic Connection

While tourism often steals the spotlight in the Poconos, the real engine of our regional stability is the business development and civic engagement happening behind the scenes. Gross retail revenue is great, but building a community that lasts requires a different kind of infrastructure—one built on B2B synergy and local investment.

This week is a remarkably dense window for that exact kind of growth. We are seeing a wave of new openings and networking events that prove the Poconos isn't just a place to visit—it’s a place where businesses are scaling and staying.

Commemorating Growth: Ribbon Cuttings

We’ve seen a significant push in East Stroudsburg this week, signaling a strong confidence in our local commercial corridors.

• The Wellness City: We officially welcomed this new addition to 414 Lincoln Ave on Tuesday. It’s a key piece of the puzzle for our regional health and wellness infrastructure.

• Monroe County Historical Association: This Friday, May 1, we celebrate their ribbon cutting, a vital moment for the organization that preserves the very identity of our region.

• Build and Burn Fitness: On Saturday, May 2 at 11:00 AM, join us at Eagles Glen Plaza in East Stroudsburg for their grand opening. It’s another great example of local entrepreneurs taking up space and providing value to the community.

Today’s Strategic Connection: Speed Networking

If you are looking to expand your professional network, today, Wednesday, April 29, is the time to act. The Pocono Leaders of Tomorrow Committee is hosting a Speed Networking Mixer at the Lehigh Valley Hospital - Pocono (Hughes Cancer Center) from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

This isn't just about exchanging business cards; it’s about the underlying connections that foster regional innovation. Whether you’re a developer, a healthcare professional, or a small business owner, these mixers are where the actual blueprints for our future economic development are drafted.

The stability of our region relies on this kind of active participation. We'll see you out there.
